body

Executive Summary

The Director of Facilities & Construction, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby requests the Board approve Amendment 6.5 to the District’s 2024 Educational Plant Five-Year Survey. This survey amendment includes recommendations to accomplish the following:

1.                     Convert Eastside Elementary School (currently Pre-K - 5th grade) to Eastside Academy of Leadership and Innovation (Pre-K - 8th grade). The school's name change was previously approved by the Board on July 28, 2026.

2.                     Convert Winding Waters K-8 (currently Pre-K to 8th Grade) to a Pre-K to 9th Grade facility in FISH. This change enables scheduling of 8th and 9th grade classes in a single classroom building that houses both grade levels. The school's name will remain unchanged.

Financial Impact

See attached budget sheet.

If expenditure is not currently budgeted, this will serve as the budget amendment when Board approved. If the agenda item includes the purchase of goods or services, the funds requested are an anticipated amount and may fluctuate depending on such factors as current market conditions, product availability, additional funding sources, and the needs of the District.  Should the actual cost exceed the anticipated amount, the Board approves the additional cost, after review by the superintendent, but not in excess of the funds available in the site’s approved annual budget.
