Executive Summary
The Director of Elementary Programs and ELA K-12, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby requests the Board to approve the purchase of AICE Cambridge International Exams for the 2025-2026 school year, as well as professional learning for our teachers. The mission of Cambridge Education Program is to support excellence and learning in schools and in professional development. They work in partnership with us at Hernando, Nature Coast Technical, Springstead, and Weeki Wachee High Schools to deliver the best education possible for our learners. This opportunity is provided to our 11th grade students as their English III high school credit, while simultaneously providing the students the opportunity to earn college credit. During the 2024-2025 school year, our first year offering English General Paper to 11th grade students, 53% of our students earned college credit. Additionally, in order to continue to grow this program and support teachers, we will provide the opportunity for three teachers from each school to attend Cambridge Professional Learning in June 2026.
Cambridge English General Paper exams and Teacher Professional Learning will be paid for from the Academic Acceleration Options Supplement.
