Executive Summary
The Director of Labor Relations and Professional Standards, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby requests the Board approve a Final Order for Michael Iannaccone to be ineligible for employment with Hernando County School District. Mr. Iannaccone resigned from the school district on August 27, 2024, shortly after being arrested on August 7, 2024 (during which time he had been placed on administrative leave as part of an investigation). Due to the outcome of that case Mr. Iannaccone is disqualified to teach or hold employment in any school and based on Florida Statutes and rules should be added to the Disqualification List maintained by FLDOE. The Superintendent recommends the Board adopt the Final Order as a necessary step for the school district to report Mr. Iannaccone for inclusion on the Disqualification List.

Financial Impact
See attached budget sheet.
If expenditure is not currently budgeted, this will serve as the budget amendment when Board approved. If the agenda item includes the purchase of goods or services, the funds requested are an anticipated amount and may fluctuate depending on such factors as current market conditions, product availability, additional funding sources, and the needs of the District. Should the actual cost exceed the anticipated amount, the Board approves the additional cost, after review by the superintendent, but not in excess of the funds available in the site’s approved annual budget.
