Recognition of the 2025 Associate Teacher Graduates

body

Executive Summary

The Director of Human Resources, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby wishes to recognize the 2025 Associate Teacher Graduates.

Tonight, we would like to recognize the first graduating cohort of Associate Teachers. The Hernando School District’s Associate Teacher Substitute Program offers participants the opportunity to earn a fully funded bachelor's degree though our partnerships with BloomBoard and accredited colleges of education. Many of our participants have been long-standing members of the Hernando community, serving as Paraprofessionals and Substitute Teachers, helping to shape the educational environment of our students.

This program removes barriers and builds bridges between classroom vacancies and homegrown talent. Upon graduation and certification, participants commit to teaching in our district for an additional four years. So, as Superintendent Pinder would say on behalf of Hernando Schools, welcome home graduates!

Financial Impact

See attached budget sheet. NO Financial Impact

If expenditure is not currently budgeted, this will serve as the budget amendment when Board approved. If the agenda item includes the purchase of goods or services, the funds requested are an anticipated amount and may fluctuate depending on such factors as current market conditions, product availability, additional funding sources, and the needs of the District.  Should the actual cost exceed the anticipated amount, the Board approves the additional cost, after review by the superintendent, but not in excess of the funds available in the site’s approved annual budget.
