Executive Summary

The Supervisor of College and Career Programs, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby requests the Board to approve a field trip for Springstead High School Students to attend the VE Southern Region Competition and Exhibition in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from February 5 - 7, 2025. In this event, students will compete in department competitions such as Human Resources, Finance and Marketing to qualify to compete in New York City. Students will have the opportunity to be part of the Trade Show to demonstrate their sales techniques and compete in events such as Best Booth and Sales Pitch competitions.

If expenditure is not currently budgeted, this will serve as the budget amendment when Board approved. If the agenda item includes the purchase of goods or services, the funds requested are an anticipated amount and may fluctuate depending on such factors as current market conditions, product availability, additional funding sources, and the needs of the District.  Should the actual cost exceed the anticipated amount, the Board approves the additional cost, after review by the superintendent, but not in excess of the funds available in the site’s approved annual budget.
