Executive Summary

The Principal, Mrs. Leechele Booker, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby requests the Board to approve a field trip to Universal Studios Resort Orlando located in Orlando, Florida and staying at the Cabana Bay Resort for the Band’s annual end of the year field trip.  Students will visit Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure during the weekend in addition to attending a live stage performance of The Lion King.  This performance will give them an opportunity to listen and observe live vocalists, pit musicians, actors, set designs and the technical aspects of producing a live show.  Students will enjoy dinner at Maggiano’s Little Italy Restaurant at Point Orlando after The Lion King show and Friday evening will be going to Medieval Times Dinner Theater.

Financial Impact

See attached budget sheet.

If expenditure is not currently budgeted, this will serve as the budget amendment when Board approved. If the agenda item includes the purchase of goods or services, the funds requested are an anticipated amount and may fluctuate depending on such factors as current market conditions, product availability, additional funding sources, and the needs of the District.  Should the actual cost exceed the anticipated amount, the Board approves the additional cost, after review by the superintendent, but not in excess of the funds available in the site’s approved annual budget.
