Executive Summary
On August 27, 2024, the Board awarded Wharton-Smith, Inc. the contract to remodel Buildings 4 & 6 for Eastside Elementary School. The Director of Facilities & Construction, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby is providing Deductive Change Order 001 under contract with Wharton-Smith, Inc. for Remodeling Buildings 4 & 6 for Eastside Elementary School for the Board’s information.
The Deductive Change Order 001 will result in a reduction of the Guaranteed Maximum Price from $5,652,947.00 to $4,912,680.93. The $740,266.07 will be used by The District to purchase materials for the project. This deductive change order will save The District approximately $44,665.96 in sales tax.

If expenditure is not currently budgeted, this will serve as the budget amendment when Board approved. If the agenda item includes the purchase of goods or services, the funds requested are an anticipated amount and may fluctuate depending on such factors as current market conditions, product availability, additional funding sources, and the needs of the District. Should the actual cost exceed the anticipated amount, the Board approves the additional cost, after review by the superintendent, but not in excess of the funds available in the site’s approved annual budget.
