Executive Summary

The Principal, Mrs. Leechele Booker, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby requests the Board to approve an overnight field trip for Hernando High School’s FBLA State Leadership Competition to be held in Orlando, Florida from March 12-15, 2026. Our students have attended this competition for the past 14 years. This conference provides the opportunity for our students to compete in different categories against other schools throughout the state.  Students will attend workshops, hear keynote speakers, and network with other students and business owners.  This event gives our students the opportunity to grow and learn leadership skills and is an amazing experience for them to participate and compete with other schools.

Financial Impact

See attached budget sheet.

If expenditure is not currently budgeted, this will serve as the budget amendment when Board approved. If the agenda item includes the purchase of goods or services, the funds requested are an anticipated amount and may fluctuate depending on such factors as current market conditions, product availability, additional funding sources, and the needs of the District.  Should the actual cost exceed the anticipated amount, the Board approves the additional cost, after review by the superintendent, but not in excess of the funds available in the site’s approved annual budget.
