Executive Summary
The Principal of Westside Elementary School, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby requests the Board approve writing off the NSF checks in the amount of $80.00 for Westside Elementary School.
Pursuant to School Board Policy 6151 - Bad Checks, the District has established written procedures and rules governing the receipt and accounting of bad checks. The Internal Accounts Procedures Manual requires all checks in excess of $50.00 must have Board approval before being written off as uncollectible. The District contracts with an outside agency for the collection of returned checks and all attempts have been made to collect on the check(s) being presented to the Board tonight for approval.

If expenditure is not currently budgeted, this will serve as the budget amendment when Board approved. If the agenda item includes the purchase of goods or services, the funds requested are an anticipated amount and may fluctuate depending on such factors as current market conditions, product availability, additional funding sources, and the needs of the District. Should the actual cost exceed the anticipated amount, the Board approves the additional cost, after review by the superintendent, but not in excess of the funds available in the site’s approved annual budget.
