Executive Summary

The Director of Transportation, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby requests the Board the piggyback of the State of Florida, Department of Education  ITB #2023-02 for Type A, C and D School Buses and Optional Equipment, awarded to Sun State International Trucks, LLC and authorize the purchase of two (2) 77 Passenger Type C School Bus Model Year 2026 for an estimated cost of  $325,952.00.

Financial Impact

The cost of this Agenda Item is $325,952.00.  The cost for previous fiscal year was $748,380.00 with buses still on order.  See attached budget sheet.

 

If expenditure is not currently budgeted, this will serve as the budget amendment when Board approved. If the agenda item includes the purchase of goods or services, the funds requested are an anticipated amount and may fluctuate depending on such factors as current market conditions, product availability, additional funding sources, and the needs of the District.  Should the actual cost exceed the anticipated amount, the Board approves the additional cost, after review by the superintendent, but not in excess of the funds available in the site’s approved annual budget.
