Executive Summary
The Central High School’s Review Committee met on April 17, 2023 and April 27, 2023 to discuss a citizen’s request for school reconsideration of the book, “The Sun and Her Flowers” written by Rupi Kaur. The committee voted 5-0 to recommend to the Superintendent that the book be removed from Hernando County Schools.

Should the actual cost exceed the anticipated amount, the Board approves the additional cost, after review by the superintendent, but not in excess of the funds available in the site’s approved annual budget.
