Executive Summary
The Principal, Mrs. Leechele Booker on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby requests the Board to approve an overnight field trip for Hernando High School’s Band Director, Joseph Harrin and one band student to attend the Florida All State Band and Florida Music Educators Association conference on January 14, 2027 through January 16, 2027 in Tampa, Florida. As part of this event, Mr. Harrin will be attending the pre-conference meeting on January 13, 2027 for the certification process. The band student was selected to participate in the Florida All State Band for his outstanding performances in the Hernando High School’s band program and competitions. It is an honor to be selected to participate in this highly regarded program with other students throughout the state of Florida and will be a memorable event for our student.

If the agenda item includes the purchase of goods or services, the funds requested are an anticipated amount and may fluctuate depending on such factors as current market conditions, product availability, additional funding sources, and the needs of the District. Should the actual cost exceed the anticipated amount, the Board approves the additional cost, after review by the superintendent, but not in excess of the funds available in the site’s approved annual budget.
