Executive Summary
The Director of Facilities & Construction, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby requests the Board hear a presentation of Somerset & Explorer K-8 Access, by Jim Lipsey, School Planner, Caroline Mockler, Staff Counsel, and Kristin Kowaleski, of Gray Robinson, P.A.

This presentation summarizes how the developer of Somerset has agreed to reconfigure access to Explorer K-8 from Northcliffe Blvd. to facilitate construction of a new 4-lane extension of Explorer Blvd. into the new development, while also providing improvements to the school, including new extended parent queuing lanes on school property, new sidewalks, new fencing and gates, and a new marquee sign.

The presentation also provides an overview of multiple agreements needed between the School Board, Hernando County, Duke Energy, and the Developer, to terminate an Easement Encroachment Agreement with Duke Energy, to transfer ownership of multiple parcels between parties, to provide a temporary easement for construction on School Board property, and to provide permanent easements for the maintenance of electrical transmission facilities and drainage ponds.
