Approve the Job Description for the Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) for Recruitment and Retention

Executive Summary
The Director of Human Resources, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby requests the Board approve the update to the job description of the TOSA for Recruitment and Retention for supporting the recruitment and retention of staff and teachers. The update amends the required qualifications from Master’s Degree to include Bachelor’s Degree with increased years of experience. This broadens our pool of experienced teachers in our district that may apply for this role and is in line with recent legislative changes.

Financial Impact
There is no budget impact as this item was already approved at the Board meeting on June 27, 2023.
If expenditure is not currently budgeted, this will serve as the budget amendment when Board approved. If the agenda item includes the purchase of goods or services, the funds requested are an anticipated amount and may fluctuate depending on such factors as current market conditions, product availability, additional funding sources, and the needs of the District. Should the actual cost exceed the anticipated amount, the Board approves the additional cost, after review by the superintendent, but not in excess of the funds available in the site’s approved annual budget.
