Executive Summary

The Supervisor of College and Career Programs, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby requests the Board to recognize Matt Nix and the SimCraft team for their outstanding work in developing two professional-grade racing simulators for Hernando High School. These simulators will serve both the Academy of Computer Science and Cybersecurity and the Automotive program, providing students with unique hands-on experiences that expand their 21st -century workforce opportunities.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to Jimmy Sternberger of Southern 4X4, whose generous donation funded additional hardware to enhance the simulators, making them even more interactive and engaging for students. Their collective efforts represent the power of industry partnerships in supporting innovative educational opportunities for Hernando County students.

Financial Impact

See attached budget sheet.

If expenditure is not currently budgeted, this will serve as the budget amendment when Board approved. If the agenda item includes the purchase of goods or services, the funds requested are an anticipated amount and may fluctuate depending on such factors as current market conditions, product availability, additional funding sources, and the needs of the District.  Should the actual cost exceed the anticipated amount, the Board approves the additional cost, after review by the superintendent, but not in excess of the funds available in the site’s approved annual budget.
