body
Executive Summary
The Director of Human Resources, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, requests Board approval of a minor technical revision to the Occupational Therapist/Physical Therapist job description. In accordance with Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) requirements, the job description has been updated to reflect the separate identifying job codes assigned to each position. No other changes have been made to the job description.
Approve the revision of the existing job title and description from Telecommunication Manager to District Senior Telecommunications and Infrastructure Analyst to align the position with current job duties and modern technology operating environments. The District’s telecommunications systems have evolved from traditional, circuit‑based telephone services to IP‑based, network‑integrated communications platforms. These systems now function as a core component of enterprise technology infrastructure, requiring advanced technical analysis, system design, infrastructure integration, vendor coordination, and operational resiliency planning. The current job title and description no longer accurately reflect the scope, complexity, or technical nature of the role. Updating the title and description ensures alignment with industry standards, clarifies responsibilities, and accurately represents the position’s focus on IP‑based telecommunications and infrastructure support rather than legacy telephony management. The change will clarify expectations and accountability by emphasizing analytical, architectural, and strategic functions rather than traditional supervisory or facilities‑based telephony management. This request is cost neutral and does not create a new position, add staffing, or modify the approved compensation structure. The change reflects the existing duties and responsibilities currently being performed and ensures the position is accurately classified and described for organizational clarity, operational efficiency, and future recruitment purposes.

Financial Impact
No budget impact. See attached budget sheet.
If expenditure is not currently budgeted, this will serve as the budget amendment when Board approved. If the agenda item includes the purchase of goods or services, the funds requested are an anticipated amount and may fluctuate depending on such factors as current market conditions, product availability, additional funding sources, and the needs of the District. Should the actual cost exceed the anticipated amount, the Board approves the additional cost, after review by the superintendent, but not in excess of the funds available in the site’s approved annual budget.
