body
Executive Summary
The Directors of Elementary Programs & Secondary Programs, along with the Director of Exceptional Student Education and the Supervisor of Assessment and Accountability, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby requests the Board to approve the renewal and purchase of services from Renaissance Learning, Inc. to include: renewal of eduCLIMBER platform from Renaissance Learning, Inc., STAR Reading for ESE PreK and 3rd grade Alternate Assessment, and STAR Math for high school.
eduCLIMBER is an interactive student data system that integrates all data points into one platform in order to evaluate and monitor data at the student, school, and district level. This platform also streamlines MTSS paperwork for teachers by automating time intensive processes. The original contract was Board approved at the February 28, 2023 meeting.
STAR Reading will provide progress monitoring opportunities for our ESE PreK students, which mirrors the progress monitoring of our VPK students that is provided by the state, as well as provide our 3rd grade students with a state approved alternate assessment for promotion to 4th grade.

Financial Impact
See attached budget sheet.
If expenditure is not currently budgeted, this will serve as the budget amendment when Board approved. If the agenda item includes the purchase of goods or services, the funds requested are an anticipated amount and may fluctuate depending on such factors as current market conditions, product availability, additional funding sources, and the needs of the District. Should the actual cost exceed the anticipated amount, the Board approves the additional cost, after review by the superintendent, but not in excess of the funds available in the site’s approved annual budget.
