Executive Summary
The Director of Human Resources, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby requests the Board approve the addition of the title Substitute Gatekeeper to the Sub Substitute-Noninstructional job description. This Substitute will supervise selected access point(s) of the school as needed for athletic events. This substitute must either be a current/cleared athletic coach or a regular HCSD employee. There is no financial impact associated, as fees will be reimbursed through the school site’s internal account.
Also, approve the updates to the Athletic Coaching Supplements to include the requirements outlined in recent amendment to statute 1012.55.
Hold and maintain a certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, first aid, and the use of an automatic external defibrillator. The certification must be consistent with national evidence-based emergency cardiovascular care guidelines. There is no financial impact associated.

If the agenda item includes the purchase of goods or services, the funds requested are an anticipated amount and may fluctuate depending on such factors as current market conditions, product availability, additional funding sources, and the needs of the District. Should the actual cost exceed the anticipated amount, the Board approves the additional cost, after review by the superintendent, but not in excess of the funds available in the site’s approved annual budget.
