Presentation on the Adoption and Purchase of Wayground as a District Educational Engagement Platform for Grades K-12
body
Executive Summary
The Supervisor of Instructional Technology, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby requests the Board to review the presentation on the adoption and purchase of Wayground as a District Educational Engagement Platform for grades K-12. This adoption will consolidate existing student-facing instructional tools, replacing both Nearpod and Seesaw with a single, unified platform that supports interactive teaching and learning.
Wayground provides students with engaging learning experiences through interactive lessons, formative assessments, and collaborative activities, while allowing teachers to deliver real-time feedback and monitor student understanding. Teachers will have access to a library of standards-aligned content, along with tools to create and customize their own interactive instructional materials.
This recommendation follows a district-wide pilot conducted from February through April 2026, which provided teachers and students with the opportunity to evaluate the platform’s effectiveness in supporting instruction and engagement. Detailed findings from the February - April 2026 district-wide pilot are included in the attached workshop presentation.
By consolidating multiple platforms into a single solution, the district will reduce application redundancy, streamline the user experience for students and teachers, and realize cost savings while maintaining - and enhancing - access to high-quality instructional technology tools.
The license will be valid for one year. Wayground is the supplier and publisher of this proprietary and copyrighted material.
The cost for the District License will be paid out of Technology Millage and is subject to collection of that source of revenue. If Millage funding changes or is discontinued, alternative funding sources will be identified.

See attached budget sheet.
If expenditure is not currently budgeted, this will serve as the budget amendment when Board approved. If the agenda item includes the purchase of goods or services, the funds requested are an anticipated amount and may fluctuate depending on such factors as current market conditions, product availability, additional funding sources, and the needs of the District. Should the actual cost exceed the anticipated amount, the Board approves the additional cost, after review by the superintendent, but not in excess of the funds available in the site’s approved annual budget.
