Executive Summary
The Director of Technology and Information Services, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby requests the Board approve the agreement with CDW-G for 10Gbps POE+ switch equipment. This equipment upgrades the network to more modern standards of bandwidth and reliability and provides the wireless network connection for all district schools and increase capacity to allow for the One to One student device initiative.
The cost of this equipment is $481,387.50 and is eligible for a proposed E-Rate discount of 80% and may be purchased on an as needed basis over a 5 year period. The District has been approved to receive $385,110.00 in Federal E-Rate discounts on the purchases of equipment during the 5 year period with the remaining 20% ($96,277.50) to be paid by the District with Millage funds as planned in the Millage budget. The purchase of equipment contained in this agreement is based on availability of E-Rate and Millage funding. If there is not available funding from either or both sources, equipment purchases may be reduced or eliminated.
