Executive Summary
The Public Information Officer, on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools, hereby requests the Board to approve the addition of extended SMS messaging from Blackboard in order to provide more information to stakeholders when sending urgent notifications related to school safety or public health. Blackboard Connect is our communications tool and currently limits SMS texting to 140 characters. The cost to increase the number of characters to 300 is $8,319.45 through 6/30/2022.
